The spreadsheet's "Photo attached" column is just a Yes/No flag, a spreadsheet file can't hold an actual picture. Use "Download photos" to get the actual photo files, named to match each row.

Your log, favorites, and trip dates are saved on this device, they'll still be here next time you open the app. Download a copy whenever you want one, and use "Clear log" to start fresh (tap it twice to confirm, since it can't be undone).

HowMuchFX.com is 3 apps in 1, a currency converter, a way to share the price or what you paid and a spending log, so you don't need three separate apps for a trip.

Add it to your phone

HowMuchFX.com is a web-hosted app, so there's nothing to download or install from an app store, just open the link. To add a shortcut icon to your home screen instead:

Android (Chrome): tap the menu (⋮) in the top right, then tap "Add to Home screen" or "Install app".

iPhone (Safari): tap the Share icon at the bottom of the screen, then scroll down and tap "Add to Home Screen".

Choose your favorite currencies, up to 5, these are the ones every price converts into.

Scan a price tag or bill and the app will automatically read the price for you. (Give it a quick check, it usually gets it right but it's reading a photo, so always confirm before you share or log it.)

By default the scan reads Latin-script text (like English, Spanish, or French). Tap "Scan Language" in the header if your price tag or bill is in Chinese, Arabic, or Japanese instead.

Add a photo of the item itself too, if you like, totally optional.

Your favorite currencies convert automatically the moment you type the price, no button to press. Then Share it and/or Log it.

Share

Turns the price, all your currency conversions, your photos, description, and location (if it's on) into one picture and opens your phone's share menu, so you can send it to WhatsApp, Telegram, Viber, email, or anyone you like. It also saves this item to your log at the same time, so you don't have to do both separately.

Add to log

Saves all those same details to your personal spreadsheet, without sending anything anywhere, handy when you just want to keep a record without messaging anyone.

"Download spreadsheet" and "Download photos" export everything you've saved so far, whenever you want them.
